My name is Laurie Smith and I am the owner of a Standard Poodle, Dexter and a Standard Bernedoodle named Bernie. I was born and raised on a farm in Southern California where we had horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, dogs, and cats. At an early age, I was taught the importance of taking care of animals of all different ages, sizes, and breeds. I was responsible for bottle-feeding our cattle and pigs and ensuring that all other animals were watered and fed every day before I left for school. I have always loved animals and enjoyed their company. They are a huge part of my life and I couldn't imagine life without them.
Since my father-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and I will be his caretaker, I have decided to end my current occupation and start a new adventure in breeding F1B Bernedoodles. I owned my own adoption service for 15 years and love helping birth mothers and adoptive families with the process of adoption. It brought me much joy and happiness. I look forward to this new adventure and all it has to offer.
Peyton Doodles is a small family-run breeding operation that is run exclusively from our home. Our dogs are high-quality, genetically tested family pets. All dogs are on site and available for viewing. Our female is only bred once a year to ensure full recovery post birth.
I strive to hand raise all my puppies in a clean and playful environment custom designed to promote happy, healthy, and desensitized bundles of joy.
I spend a good amount of time each day getting to know each puppy's personality and unique traits which helps me find the perfect family for each one of my puppies.
Breeding puppies is a lot of work, and very time-consuming but in the end, when they find their forever families it’s all worth it…
Rolly is a Standard White, SIlver and Brindle Parti Poodle that was born 2 March 2024 and is our pride and joy. Rolly is the poster child for a large, goofy, smart, loving poodle. Rolly loves to chase balls, frisbees, and small furry 4-legged animals. Rolly has outstanding genetic traits which leads to beautiful puppies which have great coloring, loving personalities and sweet temperments.
Bernie is a F1 Bernadoodle, her father a pure bred standard poodle and her mother a pure bred Bernese Mountain Dog. She is wicked smart, loving, is very attentive and attune to our feelings and has fantastic, soft non-shedding poodle type hair. She likes to retrieve frisbees, balls and spends several days a week at the dog park. She is very obedient and strives to please. Bernie received the gift of beautiful coloring and has been fully genetic tested as noted above. When paired with Dexter she throws really neat looking puppies (see photo page). Bernie and Dexter's puppies are F1B Bernedoodles and thus 75% poodle and 25% Bernese. We keep in touch with several of Bernie's puppies families and they LOVE THEIR BERNEDOODLES. I LOVE MY BERNIE DOODLE DOODLE (but not more than my husband).
Forget those old stereotypes of Bernedoodles as just cute companions. Bernedoodles are eager, athletic, and wickedly smart "real dogs" of remarkable versatility. The larger ones, due to their Bernese Mountain Dog heritage, bring greater size and strength, making them fantastic all-around athletes. But all Bernedoodles can be trained with great success.
